There is nothing better in this entire world in my humble opinion than camping. The simplicity of it all, being completely absorbed within nature truly is my favorite thing. From the moment I decide I want to go away, finding the perfect destination, the perfect campsite, I enjoy it from the very beginning. Trawling the internet and books looking for a site that will suit us all and has everything we are looking for.

I love looking for places for friends and family and try convincing everyone around me that camping is the best thing they can spend their money on. What makes the perfect campsite? well that is different for everyone and a subject for another post, but when you find a great site and you are all set up with the fire on and a drink in your hand all of the worries of the outside world slip away. While I am camping I am at my best. The fresh air, the connection with my family and the disconnect from my phone. The sunrises and the sunsets. The campfires, the bird song. All of these things fill my soul in a way that I am not able to find anywhere else. I love the simplicity that living in a tent brings. Just a small collection of 'things' rather than at home with all of the stuff that on a daily basis surround us and overtake our living space. A cozy nest area for us all to sleep in, I feel like that is the most important thing. Somewhere cozy safe and warm for us to rest and ready for the next day.

Our Set up has changed over the years. We have had small tents and big tents. We even had a trailer tent for a while. That was so difficult to put up that it had to go, either that or we would end up getting divorced. Our camper van is my happy place. It is everything that we need and while we still need a tent as there are so many of us the camper makes every trip special. Setting up a little base to explore from is something that I love to do and its now something that the children help me with. A cozy bed area, a clear living area, lots of toys and games and things to occupy a slow rainy day and lots of crafts and books. Our camping trips always include a few days exploring the area and a few quiet days at the site. These days are wonderful. Slow days of play and rest and food and laughing. These are moments that don't seem to come along very often at home but are many while we are away camping and I guess that is one of the very many reasons why I love it so much.

Camping offers a unique opportunity to disconnect and immerse yourself in nature, fostering a deeper connection with loved ones. The simplicity of camping, from selecting the perfect site to creating a cozy space, enriches the experience. A mix of adventure and quiet relaxation makes each trip memorable, especially with a camper van setup for comfort. Exploring nature and enjoying slow days together are key to the magic of camping. These moments of simplicity and connection are what make camping truly special. Camping Cannobio
